icing on the lemon cake

to put a nice layer of icing on the top of the proverbial cake, today i was 'let go' from my job at the cat clinic. they've hired someone with more veterinary experience. i can stay until friday, 15 march if i'd like to. then i'm out the door. good god. isn't there some sort of law that only so many bad things can happen to you within a month's time?
