From CMJ.com by way of veronicamars.org: "Spoon frontman and indie rock pinup boy Britt Daniel will be appearing on UPN's Veronica Mars next Wednesday (February 1). No word on whether Daniel is playing himself or a character, but he will be in Neptune, the fictional wealthy town that's home to the titular private detective/high school student, singing a karaoke version of "one of his all-time favorite songs." Given the show's title and Spoon's influences, reports that the song is Elvis Costello's "Veronica" seem believable. Daniel isn't the first rock star to show up at the town's karaoke bar. In October, Courtney Taylor of the Dandy Warhols showed up to croon the Nazareth version of "Love Hurts." Seems like Neptune's got more than just mysteries going on!"
from entertainment weekly by way of veronicamars.org: "If Veronica Mars is so cheap to produce (compared, say, to the per-episode budget of a show like Lost), how can it be so good? And how come budget seems to have so little to do with the relative merit of TV shows? For that matter, why is Veronica Mars so good? It bears little resemblance to life as I know it, but I can't take my eyes off the damn thing." (taken from his column here.
