stolen from lj in general
Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one, and explain it. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em.
anne summers - a power pop band i loved, was friends with, made a video for, photographed, booked at make-out party, etc. from the dc area; specifically falls church.
broken social scene - jeffers turned me onto them. i have no doubt that any of you don't know who they are.
darren hanlon - quirky australian singer/songwriter a la stephin merritt; toured as a member of the lucksmiths for awhile.
hayden - one of my all time fave singer/songwriters. he writes some of the most beautiful words ever and has the best eye/hair combination of black & blue. i think i am magnetized by people who call themselves by their middle name. his first name is paul. i interviewed him for my 'zine.
julie doiron - again, one of my all time fave singer/songwriters. i am picky with the ladies, but she stole my heart. oh, julie! i interviewed her for my 'zine also but never ended up publishing it.
now! music and fashion - the record store i gave 3 years of my life to. the best record store in the dc area since go! sadly, it died due to people not buying music as much, and the fact we changed locations twice. the final resting place of now! was old town alexandria, va. run by tim dronepop and jonathan. i went back for the now! going away party/show in june of 2004.
rhymes with twee - the name of my craft company, which is now actually official and everything! egads!
spontaneous road trips - self explanatory! i love a good road trip. right now i am trying to drive as little as possible though.
the postal service - we're talking one of my top 5 favorite albums of all time here with 'give up'. i listened to it most of the way to toledo, oh from alexandria, va and then ALL the way back from toledo to alexandria. if you have not heard 'give up', do your soul a favor and do so.
w.a.s.t.e. products - <3 <3 <3 w.a.s.t.e. is radiohead's clothing/merch company. they pay a living wage and are sweatshop free. radiohead's merch stands the test of time, where other band shirts may fade, lose print, etc. how many bands care enough to do that for the people making their shirts and the people buying them?
