"this is our new song. just like the last one."

this weekend i got a few big "to dos" checked off my list, including: putting up shelves in my bedroom and hooks on the back of the bathroom door and lastly, a huge clean sweep of the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and hall closet. i've still got a lot to do, but i do believe i can see the end in sight. i've still got to paint my room (already have the paint), paint the trim in the kitchen, and get bolts for the shelves so i can actually start putting things on them. paul is getting me the bolts after work today, so hopefully i can go home and put some things up on the shelves and clear off my floor. it's kind of funny that we put this shelf up and i'm probably going to start painting in less than a week's time. oh well.

last night in celebration of completing the aforementioned tasks, paul said we should drink wine. ginny, paul, and i consumed three bottles of wine while watching last thursday's o.c. episode and the mst3k episode of deathstalker 3: the warriors from hell. i had a nice little drunken phonecall to nancy and shortly afterwards i could be heard puking up the falafel sandwich i ate at sultan's market earlier. i woke up with the most massive headache i can ever remember having and as a bonus, nausea!

i think i've finally flushed my system out. i'm at the point where i feel equal parts starved and like i might throw up again. i'm going to attempt to eat my leo's leftovers from saturday morning and read here kitty kitty, which is kind terrible when the last three books i read were all amazingly good reads (the crying of lot 49 by thomas pynchon, amped: notes from a go nowhere punk band by jon resh, and stripping and other stories by pagan kennedy). this novel feels like an aging ny hipster was trying to crank out a soap opera polaroid of her life before she forgets her glory days. yikes. yeah, it's pretty bad so far, but i'm only 35 pages into it.

Wine always gives me the worst hangovers. I try not to drink more than a glass of it 'cuz I know I'll regret it later. I'm so sorry you had to throw up falafel. It's great going down, but oh so bad coming up. Hope you're 100 percent soon.

How about next Tuesday? Otherwise, who knows when you'll catch me with disposable income again. What I thought was going to be temporary poverty will soon most likely be a permanent condition. Next Tuesday is my day off from the gym, so I'm down, if you are. Let me know.

wahey! i've been terrible with the gym, but i've been getting the other aspects of my life in order, which i'd been slacking on since i started going to the gym. somehow i'm still losing weight. i think that's partly due to my keeping a food journal, hm. :)

How 'bout "The Aviator?" I've been wanting to see that even though I cannot look at Leonardo DiCaprio without seeing him as the retarded kid in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape." It's hard to take him seriously as an actor, but I love Martin Sorcese. You'll have to remind me where the movie theater is. I've been there before, but can't picture it exactly. I'm doing bad with the gym this week (only went once so far), but have been kicking ass otherwise since the year began. I'm getting better about eating. I eat good food, but lately, I haven't felt hungry very often, so I haven't been eating very much. Oddly, getting sick last week seems to have re-awakened my appetite.

i'm glad you said that because i've been trying to find someone to see that to no avail! yeah, he is still not a favorite even though he has played some very good roles very well. i think he's actually a good fit for this role. looking forward to seeing it, so yeah. i'd rather go to the later show, but could really do either.

western & schubert (between logan and diversey), near the target/microcenter, etc., right off the highway. anyways, if you got up to the theatre, i could give you a ride back home afterwards.

I'm surprised you can't find anyone to see "The Aviator." Almost everyone I know has either seen it, plans on seeing it or talks about how they want to see it. Since you're willing to give me a ride home, I'll do the later show. I have to get up at 6 a.m. the next day, so it would be nice not to have to deal with an hourlong train ride on the way back.
