in the past year... (exit poll)

i did this last year but karyn asked me to do it this year too...

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before? Survived an entire in a town that I barely knew and made it out with new friends, a love, and an actual sense of direction!

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Turns out I only wrote one resolution last year. Well, there was only one other time I threw up due to alcohol and it was very similiar to the time I threw up on New Year's last year, so I didn't keep it. I did stop crying at parties though, however I recently was spotted crying hysterically during the previews before Blade: Trinity.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? My next door neighbor as a child did.

4. Did anyone close to you die? Close to me? No. Related in some way to my family or family friends, yes.

5. What countries did you visit? Zip.

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004? A band, and a weekly or bi-weekly craft night.

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? I'd say that November 6th was pretty darn memorable. Seeing Leslie _protocol and meeting Swifty for the first time djswifty in Amherst. Meeting a long time penpal and it feeling like that person was already a good friend and seeing one of my best friends in a new environment. The highlight: experiencing the Jason Anderson show at the Shed. OMG. best show of the year, hands down.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Getting an actual job (as in a real 9-5, non-temp job) tied with actually recording my first two songs with Gavin.

9. What was your biggest failure? Not realizing my self worth sometimes.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Constant colds and huge headaches.

11. What was the best thing you bought? RADIOHEAD - 12" DRILL EP

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Well, I applaud Alex for being so awesome and getting his own store and managing it, but it seems like it might be killing him, which is not acceptable. :(

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? George Bush, Paris Hilton.

14. Where did most of your money go? rent, CDS/RECORDS, gas, craft supplies, various eBay, craigslist, and yard sale purchases.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Awesome shows,

16. What song will always remind you of 2004? 'Saturday' and 'Sunday' by the Rabbits! THESE SONGS ARE PURE JOY!

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? immeasurably happier
ii. thinner or fatter? thinner, if only by a few lbs.
iii. richer or poorer? richer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more? crafting, writing, learning something new.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Watching bad movies (sorry paul).

20. How will you be spending Christmas? i spent it half at my home in alexandria and half at my aunt's house in falls church, va. it was amazing.

21. Did you fall in love in 2004? yes.

22. How many one-night stands? zero! 1 one night make-out though.

25. What was the best book you read? hard boiled wonderland and the end of the world by haruki murakami tied with amrita by banana yoshimoto.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery? the go find tied with tilly and the wall.

27. What did you want and get? a 4th gen 20gb ipod!

28. What was your favorite film of this year? eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 25 on May 10th. I actually cannot remember what I was doing during the day, but I remember Paul didn't get out of work until late and he took me to luc thang's at 8:30pm.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? If I had succeeded in started a band.

32. What kept you sane? the latter half of the year, paul. seriously, paul.

33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? still jake gyllenhaal, colin firth, hayden. same old, same old. no new loves on that front.

34. What political issue stirred you the most? the november elections & the cloning of dead pets really stirred my cocoa this year.

35. Who did you miss? shelly aerostatic. it's been over a year now since i've seen her (august 2003). can that truly be right? :/

36. Who was the best new person you met? becky g., brandy l., dave p., cera, megan f., michael d., paul o., geoff & joy, etc.

37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004: Don't believe everything that new boys tell you (like, say for instance that they USED to do coke), especially right when you've only just met them.

38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

"Saturday is the best day of the weekend.
Saturday is the best day of the week.
Saturday is the best day of the weekend.
Saturday is the best day of the week.
You can stay up later than ever before.
You can watch some movies and or build a fort.
You can eat macaroni and cheese.
You could even eat a pizza.
Saturday is the best day of the weekend.
Saturday is the best day of the week.
Saturday is the best day of the weekend.
Saturday is the best day of the week.
You can stay up later than ever before.
You can watch some movies and or build a fort.
You can eat macaroni and cheese.
You could even eat a pizza.
God, I really want a pizza.
Saturday is the best day of the weekend.
Saturday is the best day of the week.
Saturday is the best day of the weekend.
Saturday is the best day of the week."

- Saturday (The Rabbits)
