aquatic, the life

on an elliot and errors

at one point someone told me that in my song bits i sound like a female version of elliot smith. i can actually kind of hear it, even though i was never a big fan of the man. joseph loisboy and i were talking about this a bit ago about how much of himself elliot poured into his music and how much i respected that. he said that he is going to be greatly missed and i noted that he probably didn't feel like he would be missed at all. isn't that often the way it is though? i am sad today for his family/friends. he will be missed greatly in the indie music community. i might have to buy a couple of his albums now. it's strange how someone passing pushes them up towards the top of my want list.

alex gardenhead just showed me this review of the dcfc show at the black cat the other night. i could write a better review in my sleep (AND I WAS NOT EVEN AT THE SHOW), so i did:

(rubs eyes)

oh wait, no, i don't write for the washington post. if i did, i wouldn't know the front man's first NAME! i wouldn't have mentioned any of the above HIGHLY PERTINENT facts in a review of their show either. no wonder i can't get a job.
