"just give me one more day..."

i love love love the kyle fischer solo record even tho it's really just r|m minus bill. the cover that caithlin sings of "just one more day" is like THE most beautiful thing i have heard in ages. last night was the first time i listened to the record. i listened to it in my car. and i started crying during that song. yes i am an emo wuss.

what are your some of yr favourite cover songs? list them in commenl-land purr lease.

Like most of that last Get Up Kids release - including The Cure, New Order, and the Pixies - and the Pixies covering The Jesus and Mary Chain - and Yo La Tengo covering just about everybody.

Also, The Good Life's live version of "Sweet Chile O' Mine" and PJ Harvey/Bjork on the Stones' "Satisfaction"

Re: cover me

i made a covers mixtape! eee!
here:

ONE: fox in the snow- the mendoza line; penny royal tea- kristin hersh; maggie may- blur; be my baby- travis; wish you were here- sparklehorse; daydream believer- midget; james bond theme- moby; jesus don't want me for a sunbeam, the man who sold the world- nirvana; nobody does it better- radiohead; 20th century boy- placebo. TWO: killing moon- pavement; 90210 theme- cap'n jazz; nightswimming- gene; light my fire- massive attack; wonderwall- radiohead; hard day's night- symposium; benny & the jets- beastie boys; there are worse things i could do- the auteurs; union city blues- radiohead; save it for later- harvey danger; draggin' the line- r.e.m.; come together- paul weller; you showed me- the lightening seeds.

however, a lot of my favorites are not on there. newer ones include:
the boys are back in town - belle and sebastian
waiting for the man - belle and sebastian (they do great covers!)
bathysphere - cat power

i guess that's about it. i'll add more if i think of them. :)

Re: cover me

unf, what about tom jones and nina persson of the cardigans doing burning down the house? SO SEXY. hee.

i'm interested in people who do covers of radiohead songs well. try phantom planet (no seriously) doing paranoid andriod.
