if you could only listen to one record for the rest of your life, what would it be?

oh man! that is the hardest question ever, but seriously i think it would be a battle to the death: RADIOHEAD - THE BENDS vs. THE POSTAL SERVICE - GIVE UP. both albums have been so influential in my life, so...DIFFICULT!

why do you want people to ask you a question, and why are you feeling answery?

i dunno. i just feel like answering. when i do those surveys online i get an itch to always do more, but i've done so many that there are very few questions that i haven't answered.

what are your earlier influences? what was your favorite cartoon growing up?

danger mouse was up there. THUNDER CATS! also my little pony, he-man, she-ra, that wierd one where they were in a submarine but it was all in tunnels, but i think it had a name like spartacus? it took place in ancient egpyt or something. do you know what i mean!?

How good of a new years are we going to have?

OH HOLY CRAP, A PRETTY DARN GOOD ONE. IT WILL INVOLVE STOLI RAZ BODY SHOTS AND CASTLES MADE OF MARZIPAN.

And, if I'm not mistaken, grips of shambling young men with intriguing shoes prone to falling in love with drunk girls who stand on bars and sing, "I'm a little bit iiiiindie...I'm a little bit discomposed..."

what's your favorite city in the whole world and why?

if you had asked me that a year ago, i think i would have said portland, but as it stands now it's a tie between DC and chicago. if i could transplant all of my favorite people from dc to chicago, then that would be my perfect city. as it is, i feel sort of empty in chicago without my friendy friends. chicago has everything culturally that i've been searching for my entire life, but it seems lacking in love (so far).

i feel the same way about philadelphia. to a T, really.

what things would you like to accomplish during your life...?

in the loose order i'd like to accomplish them:

2004

01 | write my novel.
02 | actually start a band.
03 | play at least one show with that band.
04 | start writing music reviews/doing interviews for indie music rags, but if not, i'll start up a new 'zine.
05 | make a nice lil' group of friends in chicago at least HALF as good as my peeps in DC.

2005

06 | shop my novel around/ship it out to publishers and if all else fails, self publish.
07 | record and release a 7", EP, or album with aforementioned band.
08 | use this release as the first on my own record label.
09 | put out at least a couple more records down the line.

sometime in the future

10 | actually buckle down and lose a good amount of weight the right way.
11 | get back into film production by making videos for friend's bands.
12 | find myself a 100% perfect boy
13 | get married to said boy.
14 | adopt a baby (WAYYYYYY down the line).

i'm sure there is more, but...i think this mostly answers yr question!
