janice tagged me / trembling blue stars = no more live dates

Name six songs that you are currently digging. It doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions. Then list the six artists and the songs in your LiveJournal. Last but not least, tag six other people to see what they're listening to.

1) death cab for cutie - someday you will be loved
have you ever felt like a song was written for you by an ex? when listening to this song it just feels like jer could have written it.

2) kind of like spitting - free advice
i haven't actually listened to this song in ages, but it's been in my head for about a week now.

3) orange juice - moscow & moscow olympics
man, i still can't believe the comp. domino put out did not house 'rip it up', but these two songs make my day.

4) alcian blue - fall behind
since jake gave me the 'fall behind ep', i've been listening to this. the title track is quite good, but i've yet to watch the video.

5) the poison control center - kennedy
danelle has let me borrow 'kennedy' and i hadn't listened to it until yesterday in the car with her. DAMN, this song is CATCHY as all get out. they totally remind me of masters of the hemisphere.

6) trembling blue stars - do people ever?
this popped into my head after reading the following:

"Hi Everyone,
Just to let you know these dates have been booked for the last live TBS shows!! We hate it, you hate it, so we're packing it in. (Live anyway).

I think most of the gigs will be with The Sharp Things (http://thesharpthings.com/).

Saturday, September 24th: Maxwell's, Hoboken, NJ
Tuesday, September 27th: Mill Creek Tavern, Philadelphia, PA
Wednesday, September 28th, DC9, Washington, DC
Thursday, September 29th, Magnetic Field, Brooklyn, NY
Friday, September 30th: Rothko, NYC, NY
Saturday, October 1st: Popfest, Northampton, MA

I can't believe our last gig ever will be a Popfest. Poetic justice?

Take care,
Beth (Trembling Blue Stars)
"

NO CHICAGO DATE!? w the f!? looks like i'll be heading out east yet again. popfest might actually be doable and then i could hang with the specific heats, shumai, and colin clary. anyone want to go? that and the maxwell's gig are the only two that are truly possible.

Current Mood: mellow
Current Music: nothing, absolutely nothing!

Re: don't stop the pop

i am very tempted.
where do i sign up?

do you have a place to stay? i would need to find a place to crash. i don't make the bucks that would allow me to rent my own room. i think i'd just need floor space on saturday night and maybe friday night if i caught a late flight in. yeesh!

Re: don't stop the pop

no place to stay, but i'm counting on the kindness of strangers or possibly a hostel. I'm also up for hiding several people in one hotel room. I'm magic like that.
